Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall,
Humpty Dumpty had a great fall.
All the king's horses and all the king's men
Couldn't put Humpty together again.

Neighbours came running when they heard the call.
They gathered the pieces, both tiny and round,
And carried them carefully in from the ground.
Soft cotton blankets and ribbons of blue
Held every piece while the good glue dried through.
At last Humpty smiled from a cushion in bed:
“Tomorrow I'll sit on a low wall instead.”
